Delivery times
Shipping delays are an everyday challenge for small businesses – and that is completely normal. Unlike large corporations with their own logistics centers and hundreds of employees, small businesses often operate with limited resources and rely on external partners. We want to transparently explain why delays sometimes occur with us as well.
Dependence on suppliers and logistics partners
Small businesses are heavily dependent on their suppliers. If a supplier experiences shortages or raw materials become scarce, this directly affects our production. At the same time, we rely on logistics partners for shipping – and they can also be affected by outages, overloads, or unforeseen events. We have less flexibility to switch to alternative shipping methods than large corporations would.
Limited storage space and staffing capacity
With a smaller team and less storage space, we cannot keep as many products in stock as large retail chains. This means: when an order comes in, we often have to produce or reorder first. At the same time, we cannot simply hire additional staff to handle peak times. Every employee has multiple tasks simultaneously – from purchasing to production to shipping preparation.
Seasonal fluctuations and unexpected demand spikes
Small businesses find it harder to predict and plan for demand spikes. When many orders come in at once, we quickly reach our limits. We cannot mobilize additional capacity in seconds like large corporations. Instead, we have to work with what we have – and that sometimes leads to longer processing times.
External factors beyond our control
Weather, traffic disruptions, customs delays, or technical failures at logistics partners – all of these can affect shipping. Small businesses have fewer options to diversify these risks or quickly find solutions. We are often passengers in a system we cannot fully control.
Quality over speed
For us, it is more important that products arrive in perfect condition than that they are shipped lightning-fast. This sometimes means: careful packaging, quality checks, and thorough preparation take their time. We gladly take this time because we know our customers value quality.
We are constantly working to optimize our processes and minimize delays. Transparency and open communication are important to us – because we want our customers to understand that real people are behind every order, doing their best.
